How to relocate climate control wires - bloody hands

I promise I have spent an hour reading as many posts as I could find trying to learn how others relocated their climate control wires to the lower cubby in the dash when installing a Double DIN. Can't find anything.

So, I have spent the last three hours trying to reroute the wires without success. All I have to show for my efforts are bloody hands.

I unwrapped the two clumps of wires to try to make it easier, but the connectors are making it difficult for me to find a way down. I was able to fish them down are around by the driver's side, but they are too short to connect.

Appreciate any help.

What do you have in the column (cubbies, DSP, head unit, etc)? Post a pic.

Have you removed the side plastic panels and carpeting pieces?

There are good instructions here showing how to take the center console apart:

I finally got it. I ended up routing the wires closer to the right side of the brackets, and got them to fish through. I will put the side pieces and carpet pieces back now. I just hope someone going through this finds this posts, and learns that the best way to fish the cables is through the right side of the brackets.
