Agree with many here.

Get out and drive it. It is easily a car that can be a DD. As long as you are not making big purchases at Price Club, you should be OK.

If however, you only see yourself putting another 500 miles in the next 18 months on it....

Unfortunately, as soon as you sell it, you will be haunted by the permagrin of Christmas past.

^ it sounds to me like two Porsches is one two many for this household.
Even if she triples her usage it will still be too few miles.
Hence, the two of you should get good money for the Boxster and Carrera come spring
and upgrade to a better car you can both enjoy.

I'd say keep it. Drive it. Get it dirty and "lived in". ;)

My folks both have Porsches, a '91 964 Targa for dad and an '06 987 Boxster for mom. Dad doesn't drive the 911 very often (nowhere to really go by himself), though he drives when they both go out. And it does make him happy when he drives it, so there's that. :)

Hell, I don't drive by Boxster much these days since I took it off of DD status now that my E320 is on the road again. In the last 1.5 months I've only driven about 250 miles, about once a week if that. I have more fun with it on weekender duty than DD duty by far. :D

My car and I live 2000 miles apart, I get to drive it maybe 6 times a year (vacation house.) I put 600-1000 miles on it with every visit and live with constant separation issues the rest of the time... YMMV. :ah:

My girlfriend has a rule. If she does not wear something for a year, she gets rid of it. Her rational is if she hasn't used it in the past year, why should she believe that she will need it next year...

It's your car and up to you and you alone. Some are passionate about their cars and would feel they lost a part of themselves and their identity if they got rid of it, others are very pragmatic and wouldn't see the point of having something that didn't get used enough to warrant keeping. If you sell and come to regret, buy another.....:cheers:

Without getting all tense about it.

It's just a car :eek: and I need to stop worrying about mussing it. Hubby doesn't worry about his car getting dirty.

I probably just need to autoX it again. Haven't done that in a while, and that's where all the fun is. :cool:

As I have said to other P-Car owners; If you don't enjoy it what's the point of having it? That 3300 lb. object will likely become a beer can, 2 liter bottle or a girder of sorts before we're dead, Drive It!! :cheers:

I don't know what is holding you back. I have some very low mileage cars that I am concerned about driving, and when I bought a car last spring I got almost all of the car covered in 3M/XPEL. This meant that I could drive the car and not worry at all about the rock chips, etc., that come from driving in our part of the world. Perhaps doing something similar will make you less worried about driving your car.

Now that it's finally convertible weather where I am, I have been using it a bit more.

Plus I looked at some other cars, and there's really nothing to replace it with. Everything else just pales in comparison. :cool:

Haaa, spoiled on a Boxster like the rest of us.

Its hard to fill Boxster's shoes.

If you want to rekindle your oneness with the Boxster then you have to spend some quality time with it.

Hard to do when there are 2 Porsches in the family as each one wants to be the one to go for a drive.

You could always go take a Performance Driving school to further shoot Boxster into your heart and soul.

Don't worry about dirt and devaluation, as a driven Boxster is far more enjoyable than a garage queen or as an investment.

You only get one time around in your life, experiences are wealth, everything else just distractions.
