Sorry to disappoint, but I have an Escort with the GPS and you will still get lots of warnings. And when a cop has been sitting somewhere, it will be saying "Reported" over and over since several people will report it. I drive slower as well because of the extra reports, BUT, when a radar really is there, it's worth it's weight in gold. It has saved me a few times so it is worth it IMO.

And that's after I put it full logic mode to shut off the additional 10,000 warnings on the X band, and with a Savvy unit to make it shut up under 45 mph. I think it actually even found a cop once or twice. It's useful but I drive slower than before because it's always screaming at me. It's either that or ignore it. I want a New Escort with GPS to lock out the cr@p.

The V1 and the Escort 9500 are very comparable units. I own both.
One thing that will help you a great deal is to turn off the X band completely.
No one uses X band for radar anymore and all it does is chirp away at all the X band noise it picks up.
You can turn off the X band on both the V1 and the Passport/Escort.

Having just got my car, my first 1500 bucks will go towards the M030 suspension, an under drive pulley, and short shifter.
