986 Spyder

Is it wrong that I find this heavily modified Boxster very, very tempting? I just wonder why they didn't use a Boxster S to start with?

ebay link here

Nope, looks great to me

Because of leather wrap, more stock HP, lowered 10mm, great gauge faces, Bose, and every option (seats heat, cruise, Lits, headlight squirt, and so on).

Mark_T 12-14-2013 05:53 AM

wow. nice job.

RedTele58 12-14-2013 06:36 AM

Pretty neat! That would be a pretty tempting conversion if a guy had a few extra dollars and a spare Boxster sitting around. :D

Anyone know where to source those front bumper valance spoilers (seen in last 3 pictures in eBay listing)? If you do, plz let me know! I want!!!

Heavily modded car. All the nice upgrades. 173xxx miles but new engine installed. Dof installed, ss brake lines, suspension upgrade. Nice car. Someone should buy it.

Porsche9 12-14-2013 08:46 AM

Nice car I too don't get why not have started with an S.

RaisedOnPorsches 12-14-2013 09:36 AM

They offer a fiberglass spyder-look conversion for $7500, but clearly way more went into this car than just the body kit.

Sorry, maybe I'm a purist, but that hurts my eyes. To each their own, though.

Mike of TuneRS and Pedro of Pedro's garage brought this car out to Boxstoberfest this past September. That's where the pics were taken, at the Hangar Hotel, HQ of the event. That's Tom Froelich's actual red Spyder next to Pedro and Mike's custom in the eBay ad.

Beautiful car up close, and completely done over. I believe they will convert your own Boxster to the same spec for a lot less, so it's conceivable to have an S model converted.

I like the wheels the best. They're the same ones that appeared on the original Boxster concept car in 1993. Made in Germany and only $3200.00 for the set.

It doesn't exactly 'hurt' my eyes, but I'm definitely not a fan of those speed humps on the back.

I'm not a fan either. The lines of the 986 are perfect IMO the way they are.

Gt3 suspension, borla exhaust, ud pulley, gt3 seats, boxster s brakes all around, intake, side skirts, front bumper, ss brakelines, Dof already installed? Very much modded.

I've seen a few cars with the speedster hump and eventhough they kind of looked cool, ill pass. This takes it a little further to have the spyder look but without the motor and weight savings. Still pass. Initially turned off by the price especially after seeing the miles but new engine. Good car for someone who loves the speedster humps. Im not giving up the covenience of my top though unless its a real spyder in my price range. That car needs nothing except a third radiator and 3.8-4.0 bore double din back up camera, if this is what you want. Complete

cool set up, a lot of work the new owner does not have to pay for . this car only needs a 3.6 to be something special .
