new Boxster owner as of today

Hello everyone today I joined the Boxster fold with a deal I made for a 2002 S. I am not new to Porsche's having owned a 911 S, 944S, 911SC and a 914/6 GT clone. As a matter of fact I traded the GT clone for the S. The S will undergo a IMS solution upgrade along with a top end rebuild per the agreement with the seller. The seller is a well known/respected engine builder to say the least I am excited. She has the M030 sport package, heated seats, silver exterior with black leather interior and black top. Has 18 " wheels with nearly new tires. Paint is VERY good she's a clean ride. I won't actually get it until early February so I'll be looking over Pelican Parts and other websites for goodies She will be a welcome addition to my 1983 911SC coupe. Folks on the Pelican site sent me to this site so I'm happy to be here !

Welcome to the forum. You seem well initiated into the Porsche world and it sounds like you don't need any advice at this point! Enjoy the ride when you get it.
Cheers, Guy.

Recognized your username from 914world. Sure you won't regret the trade? I love my Boxster S but man my 914 puts a smile on my face that the Boxster can't even touch with its light weight and road feel.

Either way - both are a blast to drive!

regret??

This is what I think of when I hear 914. The number of times a 914 stalled the autcross because one broke down in the middle of its lap, spilled oil everywhere and now we have to wait for the hook to take it off the course. The second thing I think of is that its the only Porsche to be sold as VW outside the U.S. The third thing I think of is passing 914's in my slightly modified Miata.
I get its appeal, but the Boxster is a whole other level of .... everything.

My 914 was a fun car with its 3.0 SC engine, GT flares and all the other things I did to it. It was the last car that I was going to build. I'm at a point in my life where I needed another daily driver and I still have the 911 SC so still the best of both worlds. Yes I'm sure there will be times I'll miss the 914 but life goes on. I'm really looking forward to the S and all it has to offer.
