Could be a lot of things. i think you need to get it up on a hoist and see what's loose.

I had a red Falcon, 1966. One of my favorite cars. Damn that thing took a beating. Used to play shopping cart soccer with it.

Cheap fix
 
I agree, put it up and take the rear tires off. I was getting a rattle noise over small bumps in the road. Turns out the emergency brake cables were hanging just low enough to bang against the rear track arms. Cheap fix:)
