Lost My Center Cap Crest - What Replacement Part Number???
I lost the colored crest from one of my center caps a few months ago, and I’m now in search of a replacement. It appears that purchasing an entire cap is simpler than trying to find the crest itself, but I can’t seem to find the same part number. I’ve attached a picture of what my cap looks like now.
The part number on the back of my cap is 993.361.303.10. I’ve found the same looking caps under 993.361.303.07 & 993.361.303.09 on eBay from the same seller for $42 shipped. Is this an EXACT match for what I’m trying to replace? If so, why would Porsche use different part numbers for identical parts?
Thanks in advance... Dave

The eBay centers are not the same, just went through this. The eBay centers do not fit tight, I had to put some silicon on them to keep the from falling out. The crests are bigger as well.

Ah... ok... thanks.
The ones I linked to are definitely OEM (used), but I still wonder why the different part numbers when they look the same. The only thing I can find online is that they reference different models, but I still don't see why Porsche would do this if they are in fact the exact same...

I did not think they were, I was looking for a cheap replacement which they are. I just thought they would fit better than they did. Once I put a little silicon on the back they are not bad. When I was looking there were no OEM used caps available.

Yeah, they definitely seem to be hard to come by. So, do you guys think it's safe to pull the trigger on one of the eBay auctions I linked to? Since I'm only buying a single cap, I want to be sure they'll match my other 3.

I'm not really concerned about fakes, I'm just confused about the different Porsche part numbers. In my mind, this indicates that there must be some minor difference. Otherwise, Porsche would've used the same part number.
I'm confident that the ".07" & ".09" eBay caps I linked to are OEM, but I'm concerned that there might be a minor difference from the other 3 ".10" caps that are currently on my car.
Thanks for the link though, I didn't know you could buy center caps individually from the "big guys".

The last digits in the OEM part numbers indicate either a part update or some type of general revision or part variation. On a part as basic as a center cap It could indicate a new OEM supplier, special color/finish, or hopefully better glue used to hold the crest on.
You may want to check your remaining center caps to make sure the crests aren't loose.
I reattached mine with JB Weld after scoring the backs with a utility knife.

Thank you... that's exactly the type of information I was looking for!
My replacement cap came in as ".09" I haven't put it side-by-side with one of my other ".10" caps yet, but I'm pretty sure it matches.
If I find any differences, I'll be sure to update.

Last caps I bought were loose when I got them, I didn't know there was more than one size. Ended up putting some silicone to hold them in place.
