Wiper Blade Assemblies - or Inserts?

Hey all -

I've searched...and most threads that I've found here and on other sites are pretty old.

When it's raining, the passenger side blade makes a good amount of noise unless I happen to find myself in a torrential downpour.

The blade looks fine, and is OEM. I've tried cleaning the blade and the windshield, but the problem persists.

The passenger side wiper assembly has a good concave bend to it which matches the curvature of the glass. This is especially noticeable if you remove the assembly from the arm. Have any of you tried to replace the inserts? (Audi/VW part # 895 955 429A)

I picked up some Bosch Ikon assemblies last night. They have an option to adjust the blade for the curvature of the glass - but I'm not sure if it will be enough.

OEM assemblies are ~$70 at the dealership, and since I don't drive in the rain too often, I'd rather not spend a lot. Replacement inserts seem to be priced at $15.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

TIA -

I wouldn't change just the inserts. You can get new Bosch assemblies from Pelican:

Pelican Parts - Product Information: 996-628-901-08-M14

Great price, and the squeak goes away. Should change them every 6-12 months anyhow, depending on climate.

Thanks for the tip - will place an order for those, along with a few other things that I need.
