02 986 2.7, Having RMS changed, what else to do while there?

02 2.7 boxster w/5-sp manual...car is at dealer and I am having following replaced under 3rd party warranty:

RMS
Spark plug seals
Alternator (the 3rd party warranty people are going to send the dealer a reman?)

Car has 60k and has run well.

I am thinking of having the clutch done (its original) and installing an LN IMS bearing upgrade. I am not sure if I am going to keep the car long term or not, but I think the bearing would be a good selling point.

What else would you consider doing while the car will be in this state of teardown?

Will post my experiences w/the 3rd party warranty later. Thanks in advance...!

If it were me, I'd definitely do the complete clutch kit and the IMS bearing upgrade. You MIGHT see half of that money back if you sell, it would be more of a selling point to differentiate you Boxster vs. others.

I just did this and one of my cv boots was torn I replaced all. Of course you have a warranty so they will only do this if they are torn or damage. The fluid in the trans does not need to be removed to do the work but I would go ahead and do that too since they are there.

Oh I don't think you wil only get the money back by doing these, maybe a little bit more but it will make it easier to sell. Porsches are a hard sale. Buyers are super picky unless you go super cheap.

My Indy quoted less than 2 hours extra for the IMS while in there. At his rate that would be around $800 total with parts. For that, and a single row 2002, I'd definitely do it. If they want a lot more than $1K extra I would ask some questions...
