~2000rpm

folks ... is there anything happening @ ~2000 rpm .. (@ 5th gear, if that makes a difference)?

i feel theres a subtle transition via the gas pedal (change in engine dynamic) .. if i hover at that rpm range.

also ive noticed that its gotten a bit more shifty in the past couple days.

the only thing thats changed is that it got colder outside.

mine is a 2001 box base.

It wants to be >3000rpm.

Your in the "lugging your engine" zone. Like stated above, try to keep it above 3k. When its fully warmed up take it to 5k and you won't ever want to drive in that low rpm range again.:D

These are high revving engines. Try to stay out of that zone when you can. Enjoy

I'm assuming yours is a Tip (talking about it being more shifty).

I only drive in the 2k's when:
-Im in 1st/2nd and looking for a parking spot
-cruising downhill, with low throttle.

yes .. i know and agree with all points mentioned.

im just wondering if there is anything that is activating at that point. Just curious if its normal or not.

yet its a tip. and 2000 rpm .. is precisely when im cruising at around 85km/hr @ 5th.

I don't have a tip, but 85 kph is 3rd gear territory, maybe 4th on a straight flat road.

interesting turn of events .... yesterday as i was driving my box tip (2001) .... and as it was transitioning thru the ~2000 rpm (when i felt weird sensation) .. the engine shut off suddenly.

after i restarted, it seems ok ... but as i was driving again .. it gave me the flashing D-4 (wouldnt let me change gears ..... when i got home, i noticed a leak coming from the tranny area.

im going to check it out tonight.

any thoughts would be helpful & appreciated.
