Lowered, raked, and corner balanced on PSS9s. Honestly I think this is too low to be practical on the street. I scrape the nose on everything and nearly stranded it on a speed bump once. Next time I go in for alignment I will have them raise it a bit and re-corner balance. |
Corner balanced PSS9's on stock 17's with Toyo RA-1 racing tires. Minimum Spec Boxster ride height in front (90 mm) with slightly higher ride height in the rear to set the preferred rake. Car is street legal. It scrapes a lot on the street but I only drive it to/from the track.
Suspension info is here: http://986forum.com/forums/general-discussions/35845-suspension-upgrade-week.html I also have front GT-3 adjustable lower control arms. Total suspension cost was $4,050. http://i1114.photobucket.com/albums/...pse501d252.jpg |

I couldn't/ wouldn't ever do this.
I have a grave driveway, and wayyyy too many dead animals of the larger varieties in my area. :D |
Trimer, great talking to you on the phone yesterday. Here is the kit I mentioned;
Boxster Euro Suspension Kit (ROW M030):Porsche Parts & Porsche Accessories - Wholesale Porsche Parts & Tequipment I bought my 993 Suspension kit from these guys, pretty sure they have Boxster items also: FD Motorsports You truly couldn't ask for more helpful people than Mark and Darin from FD, Darin talked me through some spring settings on a Sunday afternoon while I was doing the install. |

Not my pic, but M030 RoW on left, H&R springs on right.
I will be putting H&R springs on my car next week. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-b...no/Compare.jpg |
Trimer, great talking to you on the phone yesterday.
I always wondered if you had a "900" number. |

I always wondered if you had a "900" number.[/QUOTE LOL - thats funny! Someone has to pay for these cars! Appreciate the pics. I want to lower my car a little. it sits up to high for my taste right now. I am going to keep this thread with the links on it for future. |
Gemballa (H&R) springs - they feel really nice. I do scrape on almost everything Including my daily drive out of my driveway) but the look and feel are worth it!http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1386156053.jpg

How about a "Front Protection Bar"? I googled it without any luck but several years ago I thought I saw someone selling them for Boxsters. Purchased one from Carnewal for my 993 after I installed the new suspension lowering it, it has saved the nose from scrapes several times. This might me an opportunity for an entrepreneurial Boxster enthusiast with a welder to become the next aftermarket mogul :). Pelican's instructions showing it;

I think wtf won the prize on this one. The below photo is from his posting in 2010.

That said, the 993 FBP seems to be a better designed option for intended protection. |
K-Sports & 18" Carrera Lightweight Replicas. Maybe a little downforce?

Looking at those scattered witches hats, you may need to rethink your suspension settings J.

^ No Autox in OZ?
Trimmer, You're in a good part of the country to lower the ride height. I however put too many NYC miles on my car where pot holes can swallow a FIAT 500 whole. I decided to go with the 'visual trickery' of adding side skirting. It doesn't lessen the gap at all but by filling the empty area below the doors the car doesn't seem like its sitting as high. And it's a proven fact that cooler looks can get you near 1.0 g's on the skidpad. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1325572324.jpg |
