Bumper blocks???
My first mod was putting the clear side markers to make it look euro-style. My next is removing the license plate in the front. But I have a question. I removed the license plate and it's holder but there are two square bumper blocks which when I look in the middle it looks like the end of a bolt. I hate to ruin the blocks because the law in my state says that all vehicles should have a front license plate, so if I need to I'd like to put the license plate back on.
Any ideas or experience in removing these little things? Thanks, |
Check out www.bumperplugs.com for what you need to do after removing the blocks...

Hey that's great and all but i just want to know first how to remove these blocks without messing them up. Thanks!

I see people without the license plates on the front on the board. ANYBODY???

I live in VA and we have same trouble. Front license plate is required. I have had mine off the front for about a year now and havent been pulled over for it yet :) (knock on wood)
When I had my origional front bumper we had to disconnect it from the underside of the vehicle and reach inside to disconnect the bolt to remove the solid blocks. The color coded plugs work nicely. I ultimatly put a GT2 front end on it and made sure the body shop didnt cut holes in the new one:) Hopefully wont get pulled over for it. |
jfmillr,
Thanks. I don't think I want to remove my bumper yet just to take off the plugs. Can I ask where did you get the GT2 Bumper? I wanted to get that or some form of the GT3. Thanks! |
I just purchased a 01 Boxster s from VA and removed the blocks. Once you unscrew the plate, the blocks simply pull out. What keeps them in is the screws from the plate.

Just pull them straight out. Without the screw inside they will not be hard to pull out. Even if you broke them they are about $15 at the dealer.
If you want to see the GT3 bumper on a car click the link in my signature. :) |

My friend is the owner of Cargraphic USA so he hooked me up on the bumper and sideskirts and I had them painted and installed along with the rear bumperettes at www.daytonacosmocar.com. :)
