Grenade!!!...naaa....I think an explosive buried under the Hummers Driveway would be more fitting for a H1. An over inflated soccer ball for an H3 though.
Personally, if I wanted a Hummer I'd buy a Mil Surplus Camo schemed beast and get a demilled .50 cal mounted in the turret.
Those H1-H~ Hummers are like buying an imitation Russian Rolex. It might somewhat resemble the original but in reality it just highlights the fact that its not the real thing...its humorous not aggravating.
If you want the biggest and baddest then buy one of those gigantic mine quarry dump drucks with the 8' tall tires and a vanity plate that says "NO BRKS"

The H1 is the real deal, just without the weaponry, and have impressive off-road credentials. Now on the road I agree, they must suck to drive.
Most people have the same opinion about us driving Porsches as you did with the H1. Though the obnoxious tag does kick it up a notch.

I think they are cool. Just like anything else that is huge, insane, way too fast, way too expensive, or just plain unusual is cool.
It's those boring Honda Accords that are offensive.

IMPRESSIVE! Just don't don't take them into the woods- WAY too big and stay away from the mud, sand and small wooden bridges- they'll sink 'cause they're so heavy! And then three's the poor old 6.5 l turbo diesel that's thirsty but gutless... But, there good for gravel roads, I guess.

Yes they're wide, and heavy, though no more than a modern diesel 2500. I guess I like the technical aspects of portal axles, great ground clearance with a pretty low ride height. Great deep water capability with the fording kit. I forget if the Civ. version has CTIS of not.
Granted, for 100K, you could build a much more capable vehicle.

Both of the H1's I drove did have CTIS. Yes they are a chore to drive. The interior is not comfortable anywhere. The center console takes up most of the space in the interior. The interior looks like that of a kit car designed in the '70's. Same for window operation.
