Cruising RPMs

I'm picking up my 04 S on the 28th- I'm stoked!

What's a good cruising RPM range on the box for low speeds like 30-45mph? I only have one 5-min test drive under my belt- I read these cars "like RPMs" so curious what the consensus is.

Merry Christmas!

As golonaus said, keep it above 3,000, although you can dip a little below that without worrying. I usually shift around 4,000 (or higher).

Okay Scott I'm out in my slate metallic cruising around today, Dec. 28th, and I'm looking for you. Beautiful day in Oakdale, heading up to Sonora with the wifey to enjoy the Porsche.

What color S should I be keeping an eye out for?

Enjoy the new toy, I'll see you around town

Ha! Yeah- today's plans got foiled :/

I pick up the car Mon 30th now. It all the way down in Encino- about 5 hr each way. I have some friends in the area I'm going to visit while there so it'll be a full day of driving for sure.

Here's the car.

Look forward to seeing you around town! I'm usually in Escalon and Modesto, but shop at the Raleys in Oakiedale often. Have a blast today out there. Should be chilly up towards Sonora with full sun.

Nice looking color with the right wheels...you'll enjoy the ride. Interesting the engine was replaced at 30k; wonder if it was an IMS failure? Change the oil often and keep the revs up...

Yeah, it was IMS - got it replaced just before warranty was up, here's the invoice. Jake Raby said they used the newer M97-style IMSB on the replacement and those don't fail too often. I think upon next clutch replacement I'll consider a DOF solution though.
