Passenger window problems

I discovered a new problem with my passenger side window tonight.

It's supposed to drop a 1/4 inch when the door is opened and go back up when it's fully closed. It doesn't do it. It stays up all the time.

It has also been making a small "crack" sound at the top of the cycle, which I am not sure about.

I searched the threads and know this has been discussed, but I can't find it. Do I need some sort of relay or a regulator? If so, where is it located? Inside the door?

Sounds like regulator not relay and yes its inside the door pannel.
I can't remember the thread but I think Toolpants posted some pictures of where it is once. I just took mine to the dealer and paid the $300. I'm sure its cheaper if you DIY
