With all these winter tire talks lately, here´s my weapon of choice:
What´s yours?
Mine are: Rear: 17" Cup 3 Turbo, 17 X 8 rim, 225/45 Michelin X-ice Fronts: 17" Cup 3 Turbo, 17 X 7,5 rim, 225/45 Michelin X-ice I´m, excited to find out how such wide tires will behave on snow. I´d like them to be alot narrower, but these came with the Box when I purchased it in july.. Winter tires are important, especially here in Norway. Remember, rubber are fresh goods! If they have low milage or wear, but are old, they are no good! Winter tires have a much softer rubber blend in it, and the rubber gets crispy with age. Replace at least every three seasons.. I washed my rims and tires today, got three purpose brushed and three different soaps: http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/9421/ia32.jpg Some degreasing added, becomes purple when reacing to S**T: http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/7827/sry0.jpg http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/606/jd0w.jpg http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/459/j38f.jpg http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/2606/33g4.jpg Still not 100% but good enough. I will spray then with black plasti dip. http://img845.imageshack.us/img845/2843/tit2.jpg Last little rinse.. http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/2717/88x9.jpg |

My wife would kill me if I brought tires/wheels into the house. That is so funny! |
He he... I'm single :)

Smart. Ice is the real enemy not snow. But I don't have to tell you that!

In my 38 years of driving winters in Northwest Wyoming (Jackson Hole), I can tell you, only studs or chains really work on ice. Once, with winter snow tires on, we got stuck going up Teton Pass. When my friend got out to push, it was so slick he couldn't even stand up, and immediately fell on his face ! |
