Help! Knocking sound from rear of Boxster?

Hey Guys

I've just joined the world of Porsche Boxsters and love it so far!

I own a 2005/2006 Porsche Boxster Facelift Model, 2.7 and although it runs very well, I've been experiencing a knocking sound coming from, what sounds like the left rear of the car.

It's not constant, it only happens at slowish >30mph speeds over small bumps. (doesn't seem to happen at fast speeds.)

When I go over a bump it sounds like something is knocking metal to metal.
Has anyone heard of this issue, or can help guide me to what the problem might be?

Also I'm based in Manchester, UK and would like to know if anyone knows of any good garages I could take the Boxster to? (reliable and low cost.)

Many Thanks
Mark

Many have experienced such. Over cobblestone roads, but not over speed bumps.
Fix for me was changing the lower control arms.
Drop link did not cure my car's knocking.
It also made the car more "firm" in the lateral and back n forth movement.
My car, 01 base, 5 speed. Use it as daily drive. Most streets are in good condition so the knocking became pronounced at about 100K miles.
