Remote key issue

Hi everybody!

Since few weeks I have some issue to have my remote key working good.
I changed battery but issue still there. Actually it doesn't work at all for now.
Before that the remote worked sometimes it's that I make me changed the battery.
I tried the spare key but same issue...

Do you have an idea to fix it ?

Thank you

you probably will have to get a new key head and get it reprogrammed by the dealer. I have done this twice in the past.

Before embarking on the $300-500 journey of key replacement...

First, check the circuit board inside the head for any obvious signs of damage, paying special attention to the buttons and their solder joints.

If you are having the same problem with both keys, it may not be the keys but the alarm unit in the car.
You did not specify the model year ob you car, i have 2001 boxster. The remote has three buttons; door, front trunk and the back trunk.
I have had problem with the main door button. As mentioned by particlewave, Replaced the small switch on the printed wiring board fixed it.

If I don't use the car for a few weeks my remote key functions stop working until I lock and unlock the car with the key, then everything works as normal again. I don't know how many days of inactivity it takes for the alarm remotes to shut down, but if you haven't tried this, you may want to start there.
