Roll bar question

Can anyone tell me how to separate the padding from the metal roll bar? I need to get them apart but don't want to force it until I know what I'm doing. There are no obvious fixings.

I do this often since I purchased a Brey Krause extension. There are 3 pins on each hoop cover. One about 2" from the end and one on the top in the middle. Move the seat ahead as far as possible and fold front if so equipped. Get a firm grip just up from the bottom about 2-3 " on one end and pull. Repeat on the other end then in the top center. I never used any pry tool and still do not. If the grommet come off with the hoop cover they can be easily twisted off as the pins is threaded. The bushing gradually gets too loose, I replace the plastic grommets every other time.
