Rear Trunk Spoiler 06 Boxster

Hi Guys,

I am Abe. Just wanted to introduce myself as I am new to the forum. I have enjoyed reading your posts/discussions on 986 for years and I am really happy to make my first one today.

I am having problems with trunk. It won't open!! The front trunk is fine but the rear trunk won't respond when I press the button on my keys or when I try to open it from the handle near the driver 's seat. I took it to the dealership and they told me it was a blown fuse which they then proceed to change on-site. The problem was resolved for a few weeks but then returned just recently.

The first time the problem happened was after a 3 week trip from NYC which then I got fixed when I returned. The second time was similar situation -- the problem reemerged after having been away for a 2 weeks in NYC ( I live in Baltimore). It seems every time I am away for an extended period the fuse just goes out and the trunk stops working. What's going on?

Since the same fuse that manages the trunk manages the spoiler the Boxster's spoiler won't come out.

I would really appreciate anyone's advice on the matter. Thank you and God Bless.

does the fuse blow when the car is parked and not operating?
if you find the fuse blown after a drive, raising and lowering the spoiler may be the root cause.
don't know the mechanism, but maybe the limit stop switch or switches are not functioning and the spoiler power is on all the time and blowing the fuse.

manually raising and lowering the spoiler and listening for "stalled motor" ??
