unidentified missing object

looking at my 986 from the front, into the trunk, there appears to be a missing component. looks like a box about 3" deep by 8" high by12" wide could go there. what is supposed to be there?just to the left and above the spare, passenger side.
thanks

the optional CD changer.

thanks, perfect spot for a custom crafted emergency kit, have a roll of matching carpet to disguise

yep, to the left is the CD changer. The center black box above the spare I believe is the amp for the radio/CD/Cassette player.

And all this time I thought it was designated for bacon storage. I feel like an idiot.

interior cleaning tips

another solicitation for saged wisdom,
attempting to reverse the visual effects of years of smog/ grime build up on Savannah beige vynil dash and interior skin, is there a proven product that lifts grime out of the [U]pebbled finish, as certain areas do not lend them selves to manual scrubbing? not adverse to toothbrush and time method, butt i have seen detailers use a foaming product, did not see a brand name
thanks

The manual fits perfectly in there.

If you were in the UK and had a RHD car, your brake booster would be there. The chassis is built to swing both ways.

Regarding the interior cleaning question, try 303 Aerospace Cleaner or Griots Interior Cleaner.

Swing both ways? I don't know jfro, I prefer to think of them as ambidextrous, but definitely hetereo!

Leatherique also makes a great leather cleaner/protector...

preferred dash/interior cleaner

after continued research, looks like 1Z einzett is the product I will try, ordered from detailer website.

Bought a K&N air filter on amazon ($35.18, free shipping), took 15 minutes from start to finish to install. As precise as I like to think our Stuttgart brothers are, found it interesting you have to "bend" the air filter tray rear ward by about 5 mm due to a hit/conflict with the body in the engine cavity when removing and installing.

installed new OEM Porsche steering wheel with airbag this morning. ten minute job start to finish, could not be more straight forward.
