I Got It!

Well today I drove home my new (for me) Boxster. A 1999 model in Guards Red with a black interior. I had a blast driving it home. Of course now I have a question/concern. I had it checked by the local Porsche dealer out and all the problem areas were taken care of. However I did notice something that is concerning me.

On the drive home it seemed to me that the steering was "light" like it was over assisted. Is that possible? The steering is precise and the alignment is fine, its just that there is less resistance than I expected. I have only driven 3 Boxsters in my life. This one, and 2 at a Porsche dealer. One at the dealer was very bad, but the second one seemed to have a "heavier", less assisted feel. Of course that was over a week ago. So is it possible or is it my imagination?

Congrats on the new Boxster! Glad to hear you found what you wanted.

The steering is very light and easy in ours. It's a beautiful thing. :D

Light steering, heavy steering: A moderate difference in the amount of air (3 lbs) in my boxster's front tires seems to change this for me. That could be the difference in the cars you drove. Just a guess.

Hey,
Great looking car! I was wondering about those Eimports for less guys. I am in South Jersey and had seen a few Boxsters and 911s they had prior to buying my current car. I ended up buying from Brandywine Porsche however. Best of luck with the car. I hope now that the bugs are worked out, it drives as nice as it looks!
