Good bye everybody! Excellent times here!

I traded my beloved S for a new A4.

After my scare with the engine -and it seemed to be ok- today it acted up again.

I also start a new job which requires much more driving and the Box is just not right any longer.

Let me say to everybody here

Thanks!

This is a great forum and I enjoyed so much!

Ok, details.

Considered a new Touareg, Cayenne, both diesel, test drove a 2011 Carrera 2S, an S5 cabrio but in the end the A4 won. Great car with good mpg and a screaming deal to boot, dealer gave me 17,000 for the Boxster and below invoice for the Audi.

To be honest the S5 was really really nice!

So long, I will be back and check in and see what is going on.

Later,
Andy

I had similar thoughts recently of selling my Boxster but as my daughter's boyfriend said that you are going to need something exciting if you sell your Boxster. Well now is not a good time to sell the Box anyway. Well Andy you may be back. Your Audi may well suit you better in terms of a reliable DD but it is not a Boxster.

If I eventually sell my Box then I might replace it with a Cayman.....

Good one. It's a revolving door - you may be back....

The Radium King 09-06-2013 07:34 AM

man - you'll be missed. still a member of the vag team, though ...

You'll be back in the Porsche family sooner or later.

No one ever buys just one.

It's the law . . .

Children, practicality, years get in the way. Then one drives by, you love it, and the cycle starts again.

Hubs is on his third, I'm on my first, but eyeing another one already . . .

The Radium King 09-06-2013 10:14 AM

they're like wives and girlfriends - you'll never have just one in a lifetime. the trick is to have more than one at the same time ...

+1

except for S5 part, I drove 1 for a couple hours, throttle & trans responce lag time is even worse the BMW! :(

Any one want to place some bets on when he'll be back into a Porsche again!!!!:D

Hope all goes well and that you miss the Boxster terribly and come back some day.

Good money.

Now do you want to tell us how your mechanic really fixed that HORRIBLE Sound :)

AndyA6 09-06-2013 03:50 PM

Hi all!

So many thanks to you all! I really miss my Box already but it was the thing to do as of today.

Now, the engine started to act up again yesterday...... All of a sudden blinking CEL and ran very rough for a minute on 4 or 5 cylinders..... And then, nothing! Ran again as nothing ever happened, no more CEL, nothing! So today on the way to the dealer my beloved Box again ran absolutely flawless. Go figure, no clue.

This was my 9th Porsche, we still have the Cayenne S. And yes, one day I may have another one.

The S5 was really nice, not as agile as the Box but man, good power and a very solid feeling all around. An alternative if one is not so much in rawness and fun factor and into cruising on a very high level.

Ok, gotta go!

:)

A pic for ref, from black box to white Audi.......... Talk about a change!
