Hmm, that sounds doable. I'm looking at this which is what I think you're referring to:

I wish I knew a good Porsche mechanic in Phoenix I could discuss doing this work with. This article Pelican Technical Article: Boxster Intermediate Shaft Bearing Replacement and Upgrade (IMS) - 986 Boxster (1997-04) - 987 Boxster (2005-06) seems to imply that a new clutch is due around 45k miles... which I'm close too. But the clutch in my car feels fine.

Anyway, thanks, food for thought.
