996 door handles

so, been looking around and I *think* that 996 door handles will fit on 986 door panels. these things can be had for cheap on ebay and, if they do fit, do away with the cheap lid pockets on our cars as well as the fiddly plastic trim bits. the drivers side handle also has a cool light that shines on the ignition when you open the door.

Um, the stock door panels on Boxsters have a light to glow on the headlight switch area.

But yes, I believe the panels should be a direct swap. But I may be wrong.

I think the "ambient" lighting started in 2001 or 2002.
