Can you post a front quarter panel pic and straight on front picture the lights look good. Try and capture the blue as I own a lapis blue boxster and like the idea of upgrading so long as I can get hid's.

Not his pic, Chrikos ;)
madmods; the only way to access the LEDs is to open up the headlights. From what I understand, the materials used were very low quality, including the outer plastic lens. Some were cracking just from exposure, so I would not risk the money on them, not to mention trying to open them. The LEDs in these are also notorious for going out quickly or not working at all. |

I've owned both the Gen 1 and Gen 2s. Gen 1 never had any LEDs go out. Gen 2 has stronger plastic which has withstood 130F Arizona summers. |
Yeah, don't take my word for it as far as quality since I don't own a set. I'm just going by what I've read or been told ;)
But...since you mentioned it, I have to ask: what went wrong with the Gen 1 set(assuming that you had to replace them with Gen 2's)? Was it moisture intrusion/condensation? How long have you had Gen 2 and what's the low down? |
The Gen 1 had the plastic crack due to the extremely high temperatures of Arizona summer (was parking it outside of my apartment complex without shade. Have since bought a house). I also heard horror stories of the Gen 1s melting due to fog light usage. I put HIDs in mine so it didn't get hot.
Gen 2s had to sit outside for a week while they fit my bumper on. Held up like a charm. They're also thicker, and won't melt with the fogs. I've had the Gen 2s for about 4 months now. |

Personally, I think they look fantastic. Won't find a better looking front end 986:

To each their own :)
Cosmetically, the 2nd generations are a bit beefier. A lot more... 'housing' to it, I guess you could say. But other than that they are pretty much the same. Also, all together I've had them for about a year or so. Never had a single LED break. |

I just placed an order for the 2nd Generation of this. I think they look outstanding but I want to be ready by the time they come in. Regards |
Fitment? None. Plug and play.
I added HID bulbs to my projectors. Fit like a charm. |
Madmods: You may want to search around on this forum before ordering lights. Some of these guys ( Particlewave for instance) have added LED lit rings around the HID bulbs ( similar to angel eyes on bimmers) and more... I would think that with a tag such as yours that you may be driven to CREATE a 'one- off' design.
 |

Disappearing? You think so?

Are the LEDs steet legal?
Folks, I've bought and installed these headlamps and they do give the 2000 Boxster 10 years newer in looks/style. However, in my research for whitest lights, I came across a thread that says blue lights are not street legal - only yellow or white lights are legal. The LED portion is definitely blue. Anyone has any issues with these lights ie., got pulled over or got a fix it ticket? Anyone has any experience with them - both good or bad?
