Help: Boxster won't start after playing with the radio. Ideas welcome.

So: after trying to install a bluetooth / iPhone adapter to the cdr 220 - the car won't start. Doesn't even attempt to turn over (silent).

Something may have shorted during the process. The radio, central locking, and all dash lights etc work. All obvious fuses look ok.

I doubt its the battery as this is brand new 1 month ago - prior to playing with the radio it always started first time.

Any bright ideas??

Help appreciated

Radio / non starting issue

If it is not as per the previous reply.

Not sure its any help - but there is an alarm (brown and green I think) wire connected to the chassis of the radio housing. if this is not connect to ground it will cause an issue - however I am unsure if it would stop it turning over or the alarm from not sounding - simple test is to lock the car and if the horn sounds you have an alarm issue.

Its a manual - so not so lucky / easy.

Checking now - No horn when locking (although it may have done earlier). Will double check the wiring tomorrow as don't want to wind the neighbours up too much if I set the alarm off.

I did notice the red alarm light seemed to flash in a quicker / stranger pattern than i have noticed before (just after locking) Does this symbolise anything or am I imagining it?

To add to the frustration - I didn't even get the phone working either - grrrr.

Any other input welcome.

Probably tripped the anti-theft device by not having the wire grounded. Re-check your work and search Porsche Becker anti-theft for a how-to troubleshooting guide. I have never faced this personally but I was warned about the Porsche-Becker boobytrap.

Ok - so I'm an idiot. . .

Re checking everything today - including testing the fuses with a multimeter : fuse E1 was blown even though it looked good visually.

Swapping it out - started first time. Thanks for the help guys.
