European Parts Solutions / Vertex Auto IMS bearing
Just saw this in my new Excellence.
News | EPS The roller bearing makes sense to me in the application. |
Intresting. Hopefully I'll be waiting a while longer before I need an IMS repalcement (when I do my clutch) and maybe by then there will be some feedback on how well it works.

In my (humble) experience, the roller bearing will carry far more load than an equivalant sized spherical ball bearing, but its limiting function is it's ability to sustain high revs.
I'm pretty sure that the IMS bearing revolves at crankshaft speed (up to 7,200rpm), so some of our more qualified members might like to comment on this new style of bearing..... |

That said, I'd just as soon not have anything but a shell bearing in there, and now that there's an option for that..... |
I wonder how they control thrust on it. Looks like a 901 transmission bearing to me.

Pedro's garage has a new IMS solution too, as well as 4 types of replacement bearings for sale. A single row steel bearing, single row ceramic bearing, and double row steel and double row ceramic. The ceramic bearings are only $199 and $219.
TechnoFix DOF Steve PS I have the LN Engineering Double Row ceramic bearing in mine |
