Towels & Clothes

Being the optimist that I am, I am getting ready to order some high quality cleaning clothes and buffing towels for my car. Hopefully spring will be here in late March early April. And I want to have everything ready.

Can I please get some recommendations for:

1) Cleaning towels/clothes
2) Buffing towels
3) Washing towels/mitt
4 Wax application pads
5) Where to purchase (online)
6) Am I missing anything?

FYI- I have decided to use Zaino's waxes. The Boxster will be white.

THANKS!

I'm using a towel with microfiber that does not scratch the surface. I think most detailing shop uses this kind of towel. This towel is also good for wiping off the softop after carwash because it does not left any lint.

For hard to reach areas (side of the trunks where water is usually collected after wash), I just use regular soft towel to wipe it off.

Many of you may think Iam crazy for this but Target sells some great autocare products. I bought my microfiber washing fitt, microfiber detailing towels, microfiber drying clothes and Meg. Gold Class Car Soap/Conditioner from them. Now their microfiber drying clothes are nothing compared to The Absorber but they dont leave streaks or micro scratches. For applying wax stripper/scratch remover/wax just use the applicator pads,I have not had a problem ever with them.

I have seen the stuff at Target, and was impressed with the stuff too. I may purchase some of my stuff there.

I think it in one of the Autopia fora that someone opined that the microfiber towels from Korea were vastly superior to the ones coming out of China.

Here are a couple of places on-line I would recommend:
http://autopia-carcare.com/
http://superiorcarcare.net/wax.html

I would warn to stay against some of the Korean made products because I heard too many cases where product made in Korea is actually a copy made with less quality and product claims are actually fabricated. For me, the lack of regulation there just made it difficult to trust as a customer.

Both of my microfiber towels is japanese and usa made (concours). And although they cost more, I know that it works and last long. I wouldn't wipe the beauty with a filth :)

Try One Grand Blitz wax - available online. It's easy on/easy off and is VERY durable! I use it with a yellow pinnacle sponge applicator.

I have both Terry and Micro towels. I actually prefer the terry cloth towels from Mcguires because they seem to remove the Zaino easier than the micro stuff. You have to press real hard with the micro towels I have found.

Zaino says no microfiber at all. 100% cotton loop only--and be careful that the backing isn't polyester.

I'm not saying he's right (I forget the Zaino guys name) only that he says microfiber will give you swirl marks.

Your milage may vary.

Include Microfiber cleaning cloth in that list. Its specially designed for cleaning purposes. It would clean any surfaces without shedding lint !! i love this feature.

Really, that’s what you have to say in response to. 14 year old thread?

I didn't click on it, but I hovered over it to find that it links to hysupplies.net/car-wash-detailing-microfiber-towels... or something like that. Not interested, so I didn't click.

Clicked... and bookmarked. $36 minimum order... but looks like a solid site.

I'll be returning to it.

However, I'll buy my clothes from a regular clothing store. ;)

Yeah, the same thought crossed my mind...it's been a good long while since he posted. And as a 'Guest' he had a lot of posts as I recall.
