Waterproofing the CLU?
We've all read the stories of people either leaving their tops up in the rain, or having clogged drain holes, resulting in water entering the cabin. We've all heard of electrical gremlins that follow when the Central Locking Unit gets wet. The fact of the matter is, it sits at the lowest point of the interior.
Does anyone have experience with relocating or waterproofing the CLU? Perhaps placing it in some sort of waterproof container? |
I have thought about waterproofing mine also. I will be interested in any info on this topic as well.

Great thought. I haven't removed my seat to inspect it, but sealing it should not be too difficult if there is some clearance. If you could find a tupperware type container of roughly the correct dimensions, you could cut holes for the wiring and seal them with silicone. Frankly, unless you had a flooded interior, there is no reason that the top of the container would have to be installed.....
