runjmc2 Registered User Join Date: Jan 2013 Location: Phoenix, AZ Posts: 231	My '97 with 103K mi had the original cap AND had previously (to me) had the water pump and tank replaced. In addition, my mechanic looked everything over and did not mention it first...point being not "everyone" shares the concern with using the original cap. I agree with the logic to replace it and requested that my mechanic change it at the last oil change.
