Problem in the gas station
 

Every time I charge Fuel, it take me a long time, the pomp stop very often. Do I have a problem venting the tank? What do you think is the problem? How can I fix it? I will appreciate any help. Regards.

Sometimes it can be the pressure in the gas station's line. Sometimes it's in the fuel system itself. Try a different station to see if things change. Otherwise it may be a kinked line inside the fuel tank. There are lots of threads on the interior line issue. A forum search may be in order.

Try turning the nozzle upside down when you fill the tank.

I have try different gas stations, all range of flow and turning the nozzle in every angle. I conducted a forum search using the words: gas, fuel, gas line, kinked line, venting gas tank, interior gas line, gas tank, fuel tank, gas station and gas pomp without success. Do you have a different search suggestion?

I hang the hose over the passenger side mirror so the nozzle/handle is upside-down around 45 degrees .
It works at most gas stations I go to ....

I check the E6 fuse and is OK. When I open the flapper I don't hear any click. Does this mean the EVAP is defective? Any suggestions? Regards.

+1 with San Rensho and Ian C. Turn the nozzle upside down. I have to do it with the Boxster and the 911.

Upside down gas nozzles? It's a Porsche feature!

Is there a DIY fix it method? I have the same problem.

I do one of two things depending on the station. Either the upside down nozzle trick or hold back the boot on the nozzle with the index and middle finger of my free hand. The latter seems to work better, for me at least. I have big banana fingers.

50% percent of the time it works everytime. J/K!

I had the same problem but nothing (turning nozzle upside down, etc) helped. Eventually, I drove the car at the track and whatever was stuck became unstuck and everything was back to normal. Weird.

So..... Do I need a mechanic or call The Ghostbusters.

There's a technical service bulletin on this issue. Its title is: Fuel Tank Hose Modification. It was published in 3/99 and its number is 2015. Copyright prevents me from attaching it. Essentially, the TSB describes the procedure for using two zip ties to make sure two hoses don't block the fuel flap from opening fully. It's something like a 90 minute job. It involves removing the fuel sending unit so it does involve some danger.

I use the leash that is attached to the gas cap between filler tube and the gas nozzle boot in order to break the seal, works great and no gas on your fingers...unless you like that ;)

I had a weird issue (and similar?) a couple of times when I filled my tank. I filled it like normal and everything was fine, but then when I was done and started the car, I noticed it only filled like 80% full. Is this the same issue or just a wierd fluke? It has only happened a couple of times out of a dozen or so

I had an issue at an la gas station where my light had just come on , so I pulled in and paid $20 cash , put $20 in (auto shut-off) then drove away .
About a minute later I glanced down and my light was still on , and the gauge still showed empty .
I called and spoke to the manager once I arrived at work (6 miles) , and told him I would be coming by after work to see just how much fuel it would take to fill my tank ...

So I arrived there , filled up , then went to ask for the manager with my morning receipt , and afternoon receipt , and the owners manual showing tank capacity ..

He instantly just gave me my 20 back and apologized .


I later googled to find out there is a way to trick the pump display so it doesn't pump what is displayed on the screen ..................
