Air cleaner clips

New to Boxsters and a hack with regard to mechanics. Snapped off as in broke both air cleaner frame clips tonight. Proceeded to get new filter in place. No CEL, car seems fine. Are these "clips" part of the frame if I replace it? ($83). ThE. New filter is in and it was very snug going into place . Should I have any concerns...will a new frame correct my dumb mistake?

I guess I shouLd have simply bent them out of the way, but it seems I would need a couple more hands to hold them out of the way while pulling tray out. Recovering from a stroke, left with a gimp right hand/arm so the most routine jobs are challenging.

Suggestions, advice? For future reference. Need to learn from my mistakes!

Yes, but to what and how do they attach?

Never have taken them completely off the air cleaner box, but I'm sure that they just clip into a receptacle on the lower half. Once you get the new ones, it should be evident how they fit in.
