Seatbelt Abrasion
 

I've been noticing some abrasion where the seatbelt rubs against the left side of the driver's seat. Some of the black is even starting to fade there. Has anyone noticed this problem? I'd like to hear ideas you may have used to 1) cushion the seatbelt or seat to prevent the abrasion and 2) is there a way to dye the part of the seat where the black is fading? Would, perhaps, a professional detailer have a trick? All responses appreciated.

I don't have any wear on the seat itself. Mine has worn quite a bit on the roll hoop. It's worn through the vinyl covering on the drivers side, left side of the hoop. I just figured that's the way they were???

I have some wear on the seat, but also have wear from getting in and out of the car (disadvantage of being 6'2") Don't know how to repair other than having them refinished.

In the past I have used black shoe polish to make-good wear on black seats .
This was back in England and it was a liquid polish in a small bottle with a sponge on the end .
Not sure if you can buy it over here , but it is called kiwi skuff-stuff or something like that .
Just make sure you rub it well with a soft cloth once its dried , or you will get it on your clothes when you're sat in the seat .

I think they still sell kiwi here. I think I've seen it in a saddle and tack store here locally. I have a space gray interior so I'm not sure I'd be able to find that!
