Alarm -factory vs. aftermarket

To my surprise, I just realized that my Boxster which I just bought has no alarm!! Should I get a factory alarm or some type of aftermarket system? Costs?

I just found a prior post re: my question...I guess aftermarket is the only way to go unless you want to drop 10K?
