Where did you get your hood crest? I'm on my second one, but half of the black and red blocks have already fallen out after 3K miles...

Crest is chrome/silver from miamiexportimport. Was a little tarnished when I got it but a few rubs with blue magic had it gleaming like a mirror. Original crest is now indoors in a cabinet where it will stay until such time as I sell the car and remount it. Cost was $95 + free shipping. These usually run $139 or more. A good quality item.

My interior is light gray. I added silver rings to the gages and polished the TIP knob black as repeated silver paintings were unsatisfactory. Now it is just shiny black. Problem with a lot of this silver interior paint is that it chips/scratches easily and that looks worse and hard to repair.

This is my newly acquired 2011 Boxster Spyder. Only 1,415 miles on the odometer at the time of purchase which was last Memorial Day.

Did you have any trouble with the lens clouding up from the heat of the iron? How far in is it that you have to go with the iron? I know there is a 'how to' on this process but still I hesitate since I am subject to "Murphy's law" in everything I try to do on a car.

I love the clear 3rd brake light! where did you get it?

heliguy 07-15-2013 04:08 AM

No clouding, Allen. Just take your time and work slowly. I used the tutorial on Pelican and found it to be very helpful. Just go but a cheap soldering iron from Wally World because you will ruin the tip.

aclark, I think Suncoast has the clear 3rd brakelights.

Hi,

So mine basically the same. 2002 2.7

I lowered mine with H&R springs.
Painted (same wheels) in semi gloss black.
Added CF rear defusser.

Otherwise pretty much the same.
