2013 Los Angeles Porsche Concours D’Elegance Pictures
|
Looks like a great turn out. How many cars were registered? Location looks wonderful. I an a member of Peachstate, Zone 3 and our next Concours event is July 21st at Hennessy Porsche in Roswell, Georgia. I recently acquired a 2011 Boxster Spyder in mint condition and can't wait to enter my new passion. Its Basalt Black Metallic with natural Carrera Red leather interior. At the time of purchase ( last Memorial Day ), it only had 1,415 miles on the odometer and not a scratch or blemish of any kind. As Co-Chair of the Concours for our Club, I am envious of what looks like a hugh turn out for Zone 8. You guys do a great job. Though you might like to see a picture or two of my new Spyder.

Thanks Trev, but what's with the 911 with a paint scheme that resembles a bleeding zebra (or is it bleeding cow), parked beside a fuscia 911? I mean, concours - maybe, but elegance??????

^ not a bloody zebra. It's a 'helicopter view' graphic referencing the 50th anniversary of putting engines in the wrong place.
The same amount of time Porsche has inexplicably failed to offer a high end midengine Porsche that didn't cost $300K and up. I'm not sure if that's an actual 50th anniversary 991, but I was reading that if you took a regular old 991 and optioned it to the max, you're still far short of Porsche's asking price for that 'special edition' 991... and shockingly, are a mere $10K away from the price of the new 991 GT3, a car that is another level, or two, of durability and spec. I don't know who buys these 'special edition' Porsches (that are missing limited production engines to justify such pricing) but they are the easiest money for Porsche. |
Thanks Perfectlap, I wasn't aware that Porsche was offering that - interesting - paint scheme on a 'special' edition, 50th anniversary 991. Perhaps it looks better if viewed from a helicoptor..... And you are, of course, correct as to profitability for Porsche of these 'special' editions.
