Oil Filter Recommendation ?

I'm going to change the oil on the D-mobile myself. The internet is proliferated with different brands of filters that run the gamut in terms of price. Is there any real difference between Mann, Mahle, Hengst K&N, Bosch and some of the generic brands ?

Yes, especially for the air cooled cars (2 oil filters, the small one being most critical). For the 986/987 probably less so. As easy as it is to order from places like Sunset, and price competitive, I always use OEM Porsche parts.

Are you going to try the Joe Gibbs Raby Approved DT40 5W40 oil? You should.

You could always get his spin on oil filter adapter, as well, and make your choices endless.

Wix/NAPA Gold; OEM-style Oil filter 57211, LN canister style 51042. Better made, finer pore size, fraction of the cost...........

JD are there any special underbody panels you'll have to remove and is there anything you can tell "us" about them? IE: type of materials and/or, their purpose??? Thanks.

As you might image the underbody panels of the D-mobile are special issue. Amongst other things they're drone proof.
