Anybody used the remote keyless upgrade by ToreB from the Bergvill FX website?

From what I read on Rennlist, a lot of guys have used this to upgrade to keyless remote locks.

Has anyone here used this upgrade and had any success or feedback?

Looks like it would work with my 99' Boxster which never came with remote locks, but does have a central locking system.

Comments appreciated.

I know my situation is a little different than yours because mine came with remote locks but this is my situation and relates to yours in a way I think. I just bought the ikey from DigitalGuardDawg online. It is a combination of their kit and a button I had custom made by a forum member on 6speedonline. Essentially the way the kit works is you keep the credit card sized RFID in your wallet and when you approach the car the doors automatically unlock, you get in and push the starter button (located where the wiper button is for some peoples models) and then drive off. The only problem is there is no one in my city (that I've found) that will install the kit in my 01 non-s. I have to drive 300 km's (~190 miles) to get it installed by someone that DigitalGuardDawg referred me too.

My suggestion to safe yourself a headache in the future is call around to installers first and make sure there is someone that will do it. All the installers I talked to in my area say that the immobolizer and security system are so tied together into the ECU that installing this kit isn't worth the trouble/time/money and they won't touch it. A lot of the ones I talked to haven't installed on many Porsches before so I think that the unfamiliarity has a lot to do with it as well. I'm not trying to discourage you fronm your purchase at all, just saying that calling around to installers now and not making the same mistake as me can save you time and money in the long run. Hope this helped :)

Thanks for the information coobreeze. From what I have read, this device is easy for the user to install. It got good reviews on the Rennlist forum.
I ordered it Saturday. I asked a couple of quesitons from the guy, and got a response the next day. After I placed my order, I got another response confirming the order.
When I asked about installing on my base Boxster, he assured me it would work fine.

I think this will be a very nice upgrade, if all goes well.
I will post the results once it's installed.

I received the T-Lock last week, and installed on Wednesday evening after work. It works great!
The hardest thing was removing and reinstalling the seat.

So now for $85.00, I have a keyless remote for my base '99.
The fellow I purchased it from ToreB, was very responsive by e-mail, and the product arrived and worked as promised.

Hi. Can you send me the link or website? I didn't know this product existed. I would love to do this project on my '99. Thanks.

Glad to hear it worked out for you and wasn't too difficult.
