No photos. I was in a hurry to get it installed. Basically you just order the wing and the lift mechanism (I got mine from Cayman Parts Direct in Chicago), take the carpet out of the trunk and its an easy part for part swap.

I think it looks good when retracted, sort of a mini whale tail but wouldnt spend 2-3 k for it.

Would it be possible to get the part numbers please?
Thanks!

HMM Did you put this on a 986 or 987? I have a 99 and considering doing this mod.

It's on an 03 986. I'm sure the lift mechanism on the 99 is the same but the bumper and trunk lid are slightly different so I'm not sure about the fitment.

I realize this is an older thread but I just found it and thought it was a great idea.
Heliguy - How did you create the gap between the taillights and the spoilers (washers)?
I would also be interested in hearing what effect is has to the down force.
Like you, I don't drive anywhere near the speed where that would really be noticeable. Hard to get it up past 130mph here in the city.

Another bump: did anyone install this on a pre-facelift car ('99?)?

So one just buys the Cayman lift mechanism + spoiler, removes the Boxster assembly and simply bolts on the new assembly? No need to rework any parts? Just adjust clearance for the trunk?
Thanks.

Yup
...you can use the existing 986 lift mechanism but will have to do some grinding on the top's of the posts. OP mentions it a bit in his first post & post #16 too

I really like the look. Except the gap that exists between the trunk and rear bumper when the wing is down. Can you snap some more detailed pics of this area of you don't mind?

Good luck. I've been asking for years and can't even get anyone to admit to it, nonetheless take pictures

This is with the 987 lift mechanism. I'm not 100% certain, but I believe it sits a couple millimeters lower with the factory 986 lift mechanism after its been modified to accommodate the Cayman S spoiler.

Well it's not that bad, even on close view. I assume look is even better from wide range?
