Can peacocks fly......?
……peacocks can fly, but like many larger birds only for very short distances. Peacocks will fly up into trees to escape from, or a vantage point to watch for predators. They will also fly into trees if they are looking for a place to roost for the night or while foraging for food. Watching a peacock fly it almost looks like they are jumping and using their wings for a boost. They can use their wings to guide them safely back down to the ground as well.

I will keep this on my mind when I am working on my car next......:)

A friend's peacocks climb hundred-foot-tall fir trees in high winds and then hang onto the very top where they are whipped around like an amusement park ride screaming their pleasure all the while. Rather like some Boxster owners.

Jager,
Good work - so it seems they are 'airbourne' after a fashion but flying in the purest sense is clearly not their strongest attribute. However they do fall gracefully - ha ha. And ..... they have a good walk. Question is..............would they want a stripe?:D |
