Front grills

In the front bumber there are the two black plastic grills. Will these come out so you can repaint them? On my 2001 the black has faded so they are becoming more grey. How can I get them black again?

You have to remove the bumper to get them out I believe. I had mine resprayed when my front end was keyed and the cost was minimal. The big hit is the labor to disassemble and reassemble the front end.

If it is like my 98 box, then you have to remove the entire front bumper to get to the grills. There are mesh units available that are easy to install that look nice and are pretty cheap, or you can mask the area off and spray it carefully. The front bumper removal from what I have seen is not difficult, but takes a long time to do for such a minor cosmetic alteration. Good luck!

I have the mesh covers and they're great. No rocks in the condensors (PO had to pay to replace one) and no junk stuck all through the radiator fins. :D
