2nd bad AOS? Continued thread from yesterday...
So I had the 1126 code... thought it might be a vac leak (MAF and 02 are other culprits).
After taking a closer look I found that I had quite a bit of oil in my intake manifold. The photo shows it... (I wiped it off before the photo too)... it looked like it has been dripping a bit too and pooling on the engine right below where the AOS connects to the manifold. I just replaced my AOS two years ago... can that part actually be bad already? I mean, two years and about 12k miles on the AOS? Or is bit of oil normal in there and I'm barking up the wrong tree? The car has had a rough idol and starting problems... By the way I did have a bad battery too:) So that problem is fixed! http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/...9B6CC3FEFD.jpg |
Could a bad crankcase ventilation valve cause my AOS to suck oil in like that? I'd hate to replace the AOS if its not bad and the reason for the oil build up in the manifold is because of vac pressure from bad crankcase vent valves...

I call your p1126 and raise you a p1133 + p0102 + p0507. Oddly, Bentleys says p1133 is a 5.2 dme code although my car is a '01S with 7.2 dme. That, and the codes indicate both lean and rich conditions. I'm sure it will ultimately make sense, but for now...
p1126 - 7.2 dme, short to B+, cyl 4-6 above upper limit rich threshhold p1133 - 5.2 dme, lower load range, cyl 4-6 p0102 - 7.2 dme, MAF, short to grnd, lean threshold p0507 - 7.2 dme, idle air control, short to B+, rich threshhold Well, good luck and I'll be following your progess. |
I see you are in LA. If you are using a Durametric and want to try a PST2 to see what - if any - differnce there is PM me and let me know. We can hook it up and run a diagnostic.
