Tire Pressure Monitoring- retrofit question

I saw this good question about TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) and thought that I would copy it here for others to see:

THE QUESTION- Is it possible to retrofit the Porsche TPMS (option 482 as found on the 2006 model order guide) on the 2005 US Spec cars? I understand these were available as an option for non US 2005 987 models so am curious if it is a simple matter of adding the sensors and configuring the ecu to provide readings. Is this possible and how costly would it be?

THE RESPONSE- Well like anything it is possible however not cheap. You would have to buy four transmitters, four antennas, control unit and now wire and install it in the car. The parts alone would be close to $2000.00.
