clutch centering tool 3.2 l
Does anyone know the Porsche tool number for the above? I need it or I'm screwed....
|
anyone?:( Bump

Just find someone with a wood-turning lathe. Turn the tip of a dowel to the pilot bearing diameter, then step up to the clutch spline inner diameter. I've done this with several cars.

I think Pelican Parts has them...either that or it just came with the clutch I bought, I forget :P

Woodsman, if you want to use mine you are more than welcome to. Don't have much experience shipping to Canada, but pm me your address if you need to borrow clutch alignment tool.

Just cut off about a 14" section off your wife's broom stick, and with a sharp knife reduce the diameter of the wooden stick so you can get it trough the spline section of the clutch disc. and the portion that protrudes on the other side will center the disc on the flywheel. I had replaced many clutches in the last 30-40 years and never had a clutch centering tool... . |
thanks guys-I did it by eye twice but that was on Toyota trucks! I just picked up some parts today and discovered one amongst them. I forgot I had already asked for one!:p Memory loss can be fun...
