New Convertible Top - Gap by B-Pillar - ADVICE PEASE
Hey all,
Got a new Robbins convertible top installed. Looks great. But there is a gap by the B-Pillar. Anyone experience this before. Not sure if its from a stretched out tension cable or if the top was just installed slightly off center. And ideas? http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1366562729.jpg |
Hi, I installed a new top myself and it fit perfectly, centering is critical if the other side is more than 3/4 in than you have your answer if not it was a manufacturing problem. The solution is a new top don't make them try to remove and reinstall that one believe me it won't fit any better and will be damaged while removing.

Mine has a little bit of that on the right side.

I can't say what the problem is, but I can say I would not accept it and would require that the installed fix it. If you paid soemone to do it anyway. DIY, and you take your chances, but I couldn't live with it that way. if I had to excahnge it under warrenty or repalce it I owuld do so. :(

Did you ever figure out what was causing this? I bought a second hand hood to replace my damaged one and I've got the same issue on both sides. The roof is definitely lined up properly, there's just this annoying gap by the B pillar.
Just wondering if I can repair it or whether I have to cough up and buy a new hood. |
