Question Stiff gear lever - lateral movement

Hello everyone

I have a 986 Boxster 2.7 manual and the gear lever is really stiff when you try and move it laterally. It goes forwards and backwards no issue but side to side is workable but stiff. Have lubed all plastic bushes under the gaiter which has helped a little bit but it is still not great. Checked for obstructions down there too and can't see any. Anyone got a magic solution?

have a look at the linkage on the transmission end.
the weird clip holding the cable in place, tend to get loos.

3 in 1 lubrication fluid all around the transmission end selector mechanism - left overnight and made a huge difference!
