Air bag light

Is anyone having as much fun replacing seat belts. Faulty seat belts trigger the air bag on the dash cluster. 1st driver side seat belt last 24K in mileage, the 2nd lasted 20K in mileage, the 3rd lasted 14 months and 11K in mileage. Now we're going on #4. Any ideas out there for an after market replacement. The driver seat never moves from it's locked in position. I'm starting to wonder about quality control with Porsche seatbelts. It's impossible to have 3 news sets of seat belts need replacing after the past 6 years.

I have had a air bag light come on several times related to seat belt issues. Generally, it was due to a bad reading from the seat belt receptacle that the belt plugs into. Each time this has happened, I cleared the air bag warning light and it stayed off for thousands of miles.

I've read that one fix is to spray electrical contact cleaner into the seat belt receptacle and see if that does the trick. Otherwise, my independent suggests replacing the receptacle itself.

I had mine come on in the 04 boxster, sprayed the seat belt receptacles a couple of times and it did the trick. no more problem.

Great idea......I live in Hawaii. Top is down every day. Periods of mist and salt blow by must somehow get in the receptacle. Good info thanks

Sprayed the driver seat belt receptacle 2X's on different days with engine off. Darn air bag light is still on upon starting the car. I guess it's off to the dealer to have them read the code. My 3rd driver seat belt replacement was due to a faulty connecting wire where the receptacle harness goes to the wiring assembly in the seat
