i agree, but i am enjoying the US version more since they've gone to one long stunt/challenge for the entire episode and stopped trying to be the uk version with yankee accents.

Agreed. I like the US version but enjoy the Brit humor. The interview part works on the UK version.

Jeremy was a great guy in that show - Until the day he destroyed the old 911, that was just wrong... I've never been able to respect him after seeing him do that to a perfectly good car - LOL
Sorry I had to add this for those that haven't seen it yet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=No0xDPFoMq8

The US version just sucks. A typical case of trying too hard to be funny.
Nothing beats understated verbal British humor.

It pains me to watch the US TOP GEAR. Im so sorry to say as I love in general any show with a car in it.
The US version should not even be called TOP GEAR, it is so different to what the TOP GEAR franchise is. Its unfair to call it TOP GEAR. If it was called something else then it may actually be enjoyable. That is if you like pointless challenges and bad humour. Its a shame that there isnt any serious reviews of motor cars at all.
The driving guy knows his stuff but the other 2 are hmmmmm.
However, Im sure there are many who love and enjoy this type of program so 'enjoy'
Each to their own.

I've been enjoying the re-runs on Netflix. The episode where Clarkson repeatedly rolls a Reliant Robin was hillarious!

I went to the filming of one show a few years ago. The studio is an old hanger and was filmed one really hot July day and there was no air conditioning. Clarkson was great, genuinely nice guy and made a point of chatting to everyone when not filming. After filming he took most of the audience down the pub.
Didn't think much of Hammond and May, bit full of themselves.

My son and I love Top Gear UK. US version just doesn't do it for me or my son. Their format and the hosts lose my interest. Only problem I have with UK version is Jeremy hates the Boxster.
"...Can't tell the front from the back..."
"...Driving one screams to the world you couldn't afford a proper Porsche..."

US version sucks. It lacks the witty humor and authentic-ness of the UK version.

Yes, there was the greased stick remark and the 911 dig. There was another episode where he was full of praise for a used 986 but being in the car with Hammond it did look a bit gay. I thought this was fair enough, two guys in a Boxster just looks wrong.

The american version is just downright painful
to watch. I really will only watch it if there is a car on there I particularly like. All three of the hosts are terrible. When leno, and tim allen were the proposed hosts, the show had possibility....when they passed on the show it should have never seen the light of day. The stunts are all just vague copies of previous top gear Uk shows. The funny part about the UK top gear is you get the impression they are all genuinely car guys and have known each other for long enough for the jokes and ribbing to be genuine. The American top gear has none of this and you get the impression the hosts have known each other for all of about 15 minutes and everything feels scripted. If they would just cut the humor and simplify things and make it a car review show I might watch it more often (kind of like motorweek ).

American top Gear really suxs! The Brits call it like they see it while the yanks work their fake smiles and goofy humor to fill programming that would usually be used in the British show to completely trash a marque. They are playing the CYA game and that makes for poor tele.

LOVE British Top Gear! Those guys are awesome. It's like a Monty Python car show! I have some of their T-shirts, stickers, etc. Huge fan.
The US guys just have ZERO personality, no sense of humor and the writing is awful. I watched for 10 minutes and changed the channel. I got the impression that they were worried about their hair.
The British Top Gear also has books which are hilarious, and make a good gift;
