Suspension Coilover or M030, have to replace mine soon
So Got some new rotors slotted and drilled look amazing and seem good quality, but Looking at my suspension it seems that its in a state where it may be unsafe to drive anymore so I want opinions on suspension. I will post the pics tonight when i get a chance but it looks bad.
So I did do my search on the forum and found that the euro Row M030 lowers the car 22mm in the front and 10mm in the rear. So i know a few of you have this and want some feed back. On the other there are quite a few of you with adjustable coilovers. Which brand would be cheep and good?Also which one won't make my dash fall out from the stiffness. I mean I am young so a stiffer ride isn't terrible but I do have my limits. I saw KW, D2 racing, Ksport, and Yellow DPS. They are all in the same money range as the M030. I don't think I could afford the Bilstein and H&R coilovers so those are out of the list. Cheapest one I saw was the yellow DPS. Suggestions are appreciated. I have 17" sport classics original won't be changing them for a while. I don't think I want to go too low but what are the general lowerings that you guys have. |
D2 racing, Ksport C/O are what people would buy to put on civics or cavaliers. They're made in Taiwan.

JRZ are way over my budget and kw is the most expansive in the group, with variant 1 costing $1,700 or so. The M030 cost 1,030 and it brings sway bars. I know KW is quality so there is no problem with them but I wanted the comparison from the KW to the other cheaper brands and to the M030. I guess KW is bench mark.
On a side note i think that there are a few people on the forum with Ksport on their boxsters. |
I put on the ROW M030 a couple of weeks ago and didn't think to measure the drop, but it's clearly lower.
The rear sway has really flattened things out in the corners and the improvement in ride quality is significant. I'm 100% sold on this mod. If you're going to track the car, the KW V3's are great because you can adjust them. I had them on another car and wold always change form street to track. If you're not going to track it, save the $'s and go with the M030. |
DFW thanks for the input. I should specify that I don't think I will be tracking the car in the near future. So The higher variants for racing are not on my list. Its mostly street use and some hard corners. I have heard great things about the M030 and the price is right. But I wanted to have the ability to drop my car lower if needed. And since I am already going to spend over $1000 I was looking at the coilovers. I don't want to exceed the $1500.
So I am leaning toward the M030 but still want the input for the cheaper coilovers. And how much drop coilover users currently have. Dump some pics in the thread. |
Either set-up will be a significant improvement over the oem suspension. However, you can't skimp on price when it comes to coilovers.

Anything new will be better than your worn out stock suspension. The real decision you have to make is:
Door #1:M030 with slight lowering and slightly better sways but without ride height adjustability. OR Door #2: Cheap coilovers with ride height adjustability but stock sways. Will it be Door #1 or Door #2? Both will be better than what you have now. Pick your poison. I am considering getting the yellow DPS. It is the cheapest and I went on other porsche forums and got some decent reviews. Its no Bilstein but it is pretty good and for the money good value for what you get. So now I feel that the yellows are going to be it over the M030.

The ROW M030 is by far the best bang for the buck . cheap coil overs are not the way to go. they will be extremely harsh on regular roads and will not last very long .

IMHO it's either the ROW030 ($1k) or PSS9 ($2k) plus Tarrett sway bars ($1k)
Unless you are racing and really understand how to set up a fully adjustable suspension go with the ROW kit (that's what I should have down but I went with the more expensive option, which I now think was a mistake) |
